Long winded whine
I definitely need to get more disciplined about the weight training. I am hopefully getting my thyroid checked on Thursday as well, just been really down and incredibly exhausted lately so I'll be getting some blood work done.
Thanks again!
But I have stepped away from the scale for nearly two weeks now. I had a stall that was messing with my head and eating choices and I didn't want it determining my mood.
Also, I use thrift stores and bought one pair of size 12 jeans that were snug...and have worn them a good while now. They have loosened up but don't fall down and aren't too baggy so it was worth the $25 bucks I spent on them. I wear them every day and just change tops. I can't spend much on wardrobe these days so that's how I roll. I wash at night and they are good to go for the next day again. I want to get my moneys worth! lol
I don't know how you feel about the internet but I'm a big eBayer! I have sold a lot of my big girl clothes, including all my scrubs, on eBay and have been thrilled with it. I recently had a garage sale with what was left and was actually peeved about how little went. I had prices really cheap, just to get rid of it all, and hardly anything sold! When I was a size 26, I would have been ecstatic to find a garage sale selling jeans in my size for $1!! Oh, well, it's all relative, I guess.
Don't beat yourself up too bad about the Starbucks - learn your lesson about reading labels first and move on. We've all done something similar at one point or another. Keep your head up, stick to your plan and don't focus too much on the number on the scale. Work on feeling better and everything else will fall into place!
Hi Elise,
You are doing great. It's hard to see how well we do because we are in it. A year from now when you look back, you will see thing differently I think. It's hard for me as well. I try to remember this is a journey and it is better to lose a few a pounds a week because I will more likely keep it off. I feel like this is the first time I can really say good-bye permanently to the poundage, unlike all the times in the past when I lost it and then gained it back.
I have not been losing like I should, but I am losing inches with the exercize. I have lost 5 sizes, from a tight size 32 to a loose size 24. I have posted my clothes to be given away on Freecycle and have gotten my new clothes at Walmart and Target on sale and some knock around clothes at Good Will. I just realized I could do a request on Free Cysle as well to see if I can get some clothes. The doc's office where I got the surgery also has a clothes exchange, but I haven't had a chance to use it. Have you checked to see if your surgeon's office has one?
It is an expense to buy new clothes, but I know I am saving a ton of money by not going out to restaurants and fast food places anymore. I also have a closet full of clothes I couldn't fit into and I am rediscovering them.
Keep up the amazing work. You are awesome.
Best,
Sharon
As for your weight loss, my honest opinion is that you are not eating enough calories for the exercise you are doing. IF you are drinking that much water and IF you are getting that much protein and doing everything else you are supposed to do and the scale isn't buding, you may be sending your body into starvation mode. Some of us have more efficient metabolisms and slip into it more easily than others. I would try eating more towards the 800-850 calories. If your body thinks it needs to hold on to every calorie being input, you have to let it know you are not starving. Like I said, just my opinion--like ******** everyone has one. : )
That being said, I still don't think your weight loss is low. I actually think it's pretty decent. Remember to never compare yourself to the men on this forum. They lose quickly.
