Hi Anne
I am new also.  How long did it take you to get to goal? It looks like I am going to have to get a scale.  I already have the app I phone for tracking.  My surgery is scheduled for Aug 2nd.  I am scared and excited at the same time. Are you still following 600-800 calories a day?
Any advice is helpful.
Thanks
Tracey

It took me about 16 mo to goal, I wish I would have found and followed the vets advice, all the ones who had cir angle as surgeon. Frisco, Elina, Ruggie, etc... I know some people think they are harsh, whatever. I saw they all succeeded so I did what they did. My calories now go up to about 1200 some days, 800 others. I follow the primal/paleo plan now, which is really similar. I eat a bit more fruit now. I am one who has to forever watch my carbs. My eating plan is so easy, I feel awesome, healthy, work out. Just had round two of plastics, so not working out right now. But for me and my body the primal/paleo way of life is it. I couldn't have gotten off all my weight without all those vets either, so just listen to all they say. If something offends you just let it go. I would never block someone, you never know what you will learn from them in another post. Add mr on my fitness pal if u want, I'm afdonn66 on there I think.

I agree with every thing that Anne has written.

P.S. Anne really needs to update her avatar!

Thank you so much for the advice! I've wondered if the Costco shakes were good, but didn't want to get a huge case of them in case they were gross. I think I'll try them. I have been using MFP for tracking, and it's great. The food plan you talked about seems like a good one. That may be a good place to start once real food becomes an option again. Thanks again for your help!

Since you are a reader, I would highly recommend "The Emotional First Aid Kit".  It covers the psychological aspects of this journey and many tips on how to be successful at it.

Thanks!  My NUT and psych both recommended that one, too. I have it on my Kindle, with lots of highlights already!

I couldn't find this book but found "The emotional toolkit "  is this a different book?
