I am grateful that I got to take six weeks off work postop, I officially feel like myself again, energywise, recovery has been great for me thank God. I already packed my premeasured lunch, snacks, and even travel sized personal hygiene stuff to leave at work. I am soo ready, My coworkers/friends are happy to have me back, they all know and have been very supportive. Oh, and although today is my first day of regular foods, I will still make sure I concentrate on my protein and water Can't believe I am actually happy to go back to work, lol Thanks for listening. Hi Linda, Lol, Yeah, I know Dr. Fedorka only gives his patients 3 Weeks off, which is what I got, but before surgery I asked his nurse Gigi, which is very nice by the way, if I could get more time off and she said to ask after after my first postop if I could get an extension. So after, I did call her to ask Dr. Fedorka for a few extra weeks, cause I didn't feel quite ready to go back to work, and he approved it which was awesome, cause I really needed it.

Hey Jen, Yes, I soo needed it too, I didn't bounce back to my normal energetic self till recently, I also wanted to adjust to my new postop lifestyle at home and not have to worry about it at work

I took 5 wks off and I needed it... I don't know how ppl go back to work a week after the vsg even if it is a desk job... Your body needs to rest after major surgery. But once your at work you will realize the benefits of being out of work for so long and how it has helped your body recover

Yes, I completely agree. Thankfully, I got the time I needed to recover and rest. As they say, everyone is different, alot of people feel great after only two Weeks. I even felt great at two weeks, but for some reason the third week, I felt soo drained, tired without energy so I took advantage and got alot of rest
