Sorry Jenn.  This is something I know nothing about.  My mom had a hysterectomy young, and had no problems.  I refused to have one when recommended to me years ago (for completely different reasons), so had a different procedure.  I also had a friend have one young - and she is now suffering through hormones and other problems.  In fact, she gained about 20 lbs after :(
I also more horror stories - but won't specify.  I don't want to scare you.  This is a serious issue, and also a personal issue.  I just want to tell you to take your time with the decision.  I wish I could give you a hug and tell you everything will be ok.

Here's a long distance one:

Here is all I know, your "friend" should get a second and third opinion until someone listens to you. If we have a problem with our body it is up to us to find a doc who will actually listen. It will also help with the anxiety. Good luck.

This is a highly trusted doctor. The reason she doesn't want to do the surgery now, is because she wants me to finish losing the weight first, but for a couple of reasons. She says that your body doesn't heal as well while you are going through a significant weight loss. I had a different female surgery this year, then exactly a month later, I was sleeved. She does not want to put me through another surgery any time soon. She is also hoping that once I lose all my weight, that maybe things will find their right place and go back home. I understand why she is wanting to wait, I just hate dealing with the problem in the meantime...I mean, my "friend" hates it.

Just an FYI, something to ask her about, there are physical therapists that work with women issues, if she gives a prescription maybe your insurance would cover it and it would help build some strength in your "friends" pelvic floor.  Just a thought, I did it once and it helped so much after having kids.  Good luck, keep us posted!!

Jenn! I have nothing of value to add here because it's not something I've experienced, but I just wanted to send you(r friend) a big old hug. I'm sorry you(r friend) have/had to deal with this.
