Message from "The VSG princess". Serious Rant.

Did you see the post or the response where I was referred to as the VSG princess?  I don't think they meant it in "Oh she's so regal and fashion forward way", do you?  :)

Thank you for the kind words, I really do mean it when I tell people that I wish only success for them no matter what eating plan they are on, or what surgery they had, or even if they didn't have any surgery.  This is all our war against obesity, we need to use whatever tools we need and work for us, but I can only give advice from my perspective.  I don't go out searching for people that are successful and then tell them they should follow my program.  I offer advice when people are stuck or discouraged and sometimes I do it better than other times, but I am coming from a caring place.  Some people see it differently, those people should really consider blocking me.

There is a response on that thread that was deleted... maybe that was it?  Or there were a couple of people *****ferred to the "royal family" idea, saying they had been blocked by them... not sure if they were referring to you or not.  I still say that my personal experiences do not put you in that category.  Are there people here who can be a bit harsh when giving feedback?  Absolutely... but like I said, I wouldn't put you in that category, and I'm picky lol.

Enjoy the rest of your weekend :)

No. I deleted my response. It was not spiteful just me saying that it would be nice if more opinions were welcomed without criticism Everyone w the VSG does not follow the low-carb plan.

However, I did not fully read the OP's rant and did not want to be a part of a thread calling out any vets here. I followed a lot of advice here and blew past goal.

I don't always agree w the views here but results do speak for themselves.

 Elina,
I have said it before and I will say it again... you are an awesome helpful person who is more kind and considerate than I could probably ever be on this board.  I for one have appreciated your posts, recipes, insights and thoughts on many different topics.  Never once have I seen you come off as rude, disrespectful or acting like royalty.  Those that do are free to block you and I have a rather round posterior they can put their lips to.

Should you ever feel the need to have a tattoo - even on drawn on for the day - you come down here to SoCal!  I have more than a couple talented tattoo artist friends that I am sure could hook you up!  And I just saw that leather jackets are apparently in fashion for all women this fall.  lol

Take care and keep posting - I for one will definitely keep reading.

Angi, thank you!  You are the sweetest!  I already have a killer black leather jacket that's been tailored to fit me like a glove, I just need the spiky collar and I am good to go.  :)

Please don't stop posting!  There are a handful of people whose posts I read every time, and you're one of them.  You always have something interesting, insightful, or encouraging to say.

This is a place for support, but it's also a place for getting that kick in the ass that some people need.  If you post here, you should expect that people are going to weigh in.  Otherwise, why are you bothering to post?!

Either way, thank you for your posts.  All of them, even this rant. :)

I am not going anywhere.  My broomstick comes with an expiration time.  :)  I am actually having a good time with this post now.  It didn't start off this way in the morning, but in truth, I am having a fun with it now.   :)

Thank you for your sweet response, it's great to have friends.  You always cheer me up, just seeing your penguin cheers me up.  :)

Ok, this just illustrates how socially clueless I am, I guess.   It never even occurred to me that someone was referring to you in the carb popo rant thread!  I greatly admire you- not only your success with the sleeve, but also you willingness to pay it forward.  I've never seen you treat anyone with disrespect.  Kindness, tact, openness. That is all I've seen.

For every one person that is vocal about their dislike for you (for any reason) please know there are hundreds (maybe many more!) of us in a silent majority that learn a great deal from you, are inspired by you, and so thankful for you!

Nutshell:

Lost 140 lbs with VSG. (Hooray!!)

got pregnant  (yeaaaa!)

got cancer (boooo!)

regained 40 lbs.   (grrrr!)

In summary: Alive & Grateful.

OK, now you made me cry.  Seriously, I teared up reading your response.  Thank you for your sweet words.  I really have a hard time understanding why some people just can't stand me, but then again, it's not really my problem unless I make it my problem. Usually, I just look the other way and keep going and the snarkiness doesn't really get to me.  This morning, for some reason, was different.  I woke up not willing to take anything from anybody.  Ever have a morning like that?  Looking back at it, I can see why Alan was staying a safe distance away from me.  Smart man.  :)  Of course as this thread evolved and we started talking leather, he did come around. :)  No worries, I don't think that whole thread was about me, just a few of the comments were.  The whole Princess and Royalty stuff, well that's me apparently.  I will do the curtsy now.  See, all lady, most of the time.

Oh damn! That's what I get for going out to my Pilates Reformer class and a walk.  I missed all the fun.  As soon as I read your post I ran into the other room to get out my leather skirt, sexy top and leather collar, only to find that you've cooled down and gotten your tiara back out.  I was ready to come play with you.

Sending hugs your way my friend.  I think it's actually great that your hard line ruffles do many feathers.  That only happens when we are defensive about our actions.

I tried the "eat a little bit of this and that" last week.  Up two pounds. Dang!  I was sure it would work this week!  NOT. Back to under 40 carbs.   I guess I'll be eating some "green chicken soup" this weekend.
