Courtney - The royal court is soooo yesterday!
Were going for gods and goddesses now. There is plenty of room on Olympus - we just dont have room for Chick-Fil-A or Fast food.
Pick your goddess, Elina is already opting for Aprodite. I have taken Hades. What floats your boat there?

I re-read The Odyssey early last year on flights between Nashville and Chicago.
I got introduced to mythology through those 35mm filmstrip machines with the cassette tapes that they used to have in school libraries in the 4th grade. Been hooked ever since. It also fits in with my Astronomy hobby.
Since were talking about muses and The Odyssey - How about Calliope the muse of epic poetry, and Homers Muse?

And it's awesome that you reread The Odyssey. I wish I had time to teach the entire thing to my students, but we have so many things to read and such little time that all they get is The Lotus Eaters, The Cyclops, Circe, Journey to the Underworld, The Sirens/Charybdis/Scylla, Calypso, and then the meat of the sections where Odysseus returns home, meets his son, and kills the suitors. I guess those make up the majority of the sections that most think of as being important to the story line, but a lot still gets left out. Such a shame to do that with such great literature.
