Did you agree with your surgeon's WL goal for you?

My doctor said 150 but that still puts me overweight at 5'2. I think 135 (which puts in normal weight range) is better. Did you agree with your doctor's goal?

My doctor set my goal at 110 lbs.  We both thought I was 5'1" at the time, but after I lost weight, I was remeasured at 5'2".  Apparently that happens sometimes when we lose weight, the vertebrates in our back get stretched out again.  I did start out at a lower weight than you, I was 197 lbs. so maybe that is what is causing the difference.  In truth, I feel that I could have reached any goal I had set for myself but my doctor is known for choosing the low end of normal for many of his patients.

My doctor didn't actually give me a numerical goal.  I set a goal for myself that was lower than I had been as an adult.

I think we each have the freedom and responsibility to choose our own goals - my doctor's opinion is just his opinion - I have the final authority over my own destiny!

My doctors goal was 150 and even though I thought that was a good goal, I thought 140 would be better, I may even change it to 135... we will just see.  I dont want to get too skinny, but I wouldnt mind losing just a bit more yet.  Im 5'5".

I'm 5' 1" and my surgeon said his goal for me was 150 lbs.  But he said he bases that on statistically how much excess body weight his patients lose on average.  I didn't agree with that at all, so of course I was like If I did this I want to be in the "healthy" BMI range so I am aiming for 115-125 lbs.

My surgeon's goal for me is to be walking/running four miles per day, rather than a numerical goal.  My goal is to have a normal BMI, so that's about 160.

I am 5'4"  . . my surgeon asked me my initial goal and I said 150 lbs . . .the dr said maybe I need to be realistic and think 160-170 lbs . .  .I started at 236.  I said that I would be okay with that  . . but today I am about 132 lbs!!
