I need some ideas for breakfast food
Hi
Go to bariactricpantry.com and check out their protein oatmeal. It tastes very similar to instant maple oatmeal but has protein added to it so it has 15 grams of protein and is not too high in carbs or calories.
My other go to breakfasts are cottage cheese, fage Greek yogurt with Splenda and cinnamon, an egg with sautéed onions, turkey sausage, string cheese and egg salad.
An English muffin provides nothing of any nutritional value and is just empty carbs. This early out when your capacity is low it is best to make everything you eat provide you with protein and nutrition and not just empty filler. Peanut butter is good for when you are in maintenance but early out the amount of protein you get for the calories is not great. You can get more protein and fill from other foods that are lower in calories - more bang for your buck. I am seven months out, still needing to lose and all my meals are protein first and adding veggies if I need it to fill me up and to also eat some greens. One other great breakfast is to take sliced turkey and roll inside of it some low fat cheese like alpine lace. Swiss and sautéed it for a few minutes to brown it slightly and melt the cheese.
Good luck

Yes, that is what I meant. I've only tried the maple brown sugar oatmeal and it tastes a lot like Quaker oats instant oatmeal. And with 15 grams of protein, 100 calories and 7 carbs its a nice change from yogurt or cottage cheese. I also like to take them to work because I just put a packet in my bag. Also not a bad afternoon snack.
No reason why breakfast has to be breakfast food... at least not in my book :)
I regularly eat leftover grilled meats from the night before's dinner for breakfast... or sometimes I'll stop by Chick fil a and get a breakfast fillet (the chicken they use on their biscuits, minus the biscuit... fairly low carb and low fat for fried chicken breast, and decent amount of protein). I also will sometimes do string cheese with a few slices of deli turkey.
I had to get creative because I'm kinda a picky eater lol.

I don't count carbs (although it's just not possible to eat HIGH carb when you're getting in all of your protein and staying within your calories) and my current favourite breakfasts are yogurt with All Bran or Bran Flakes (not raisin bran) mixed in or Hi Lo cereal with All Bran added and milk.
1/2 cup of a really high fibre and decent protein cereal, with or without yogurt, is very satisfying, goes over well with Fred and keeps my innards working without always having to take Miralax and stool softener capsules.
I also make cottage cheese pancakes (1/2 cup each of cottage cheese and oatmeal, 2 eggs - blend and cook as small pancakes) The recipe makes 6 pancakes and I can eat 2 with a little sf jam or 1 with a couple of strawberries or apple slices. The texture is more like French toast than pancakes, but we all like them.
I stay well away from what someone on here calls "recreational sugar" and anything with white flour, but do eat small portions of high fibre cereal, the very occasional slice of high fibre/high protein toast and tiny portions of brown rice or quinoa. It's funny. We used to eat a lot of rice - now I'm totally happy with a tablespoon of it sprinkled on my 1/2 cup of curry or stir fry.
