Juicing

Has anyone incorporated juicing or fresh vegetable juice to their post VSG diet? I would like to hear from anyone who has. I am considering this as I do not feel I am getting adequate nutrition from what I am eating alone. I am thinking 8 of my 64 oz of fluids each day should maybe come from some fresh vegetable juice. Thoughts?

I think that is a great idea!  I wonder if my ninja blender could make juice?

My plan only allow zero calorie liquids between meals and no liquids with meals. But I admit - sounds like a change of pace would be good. Going to be hard to never have soup, or juices of any kind.

Thanks. I've seen it. It's really good. It's one of my motivators.

I love fresh veggie juice, but I'd have 2 concerns. One is that if you're doing the low carb plan (I'm not, but many are) veggie juice is pretty high in sugars that could cause some issues. The other is that juice provides no satiety at all.

A good chunk of why I chose this particular surgery was to deal with constant, never satisfied hunger. Because of that I'm pretty cautious about drinking calories other than the shake a day I need to make up for my difficulty with eating meat.

What about incorporating fresh veggies instead of just the juice? Same calories, more nutrients and greater sense of satiety. AND fresh veggies provide much needed fibre, which helps with any bathroom issues.

I still plan to eat veggies at meals. I was thinking of replace 8 of my 64oz water requirement with veggie juice. Everything I have read about it points to good things health wise.

I totally agree with Kelly-Anne!  Too many carbs, no protein and you won't feel full.  I would have a salad instead.
