Juicing

Vegetables and vegetable juice are mostly water so replacing 8 oz of water with 8 oz of vegetable juice will not break my target. I get plenty of vegetables with my meals. I want the extra nutrition and enzymes that come from raw vegetable juice.

Yes I am on a plan. But that doesn't mean the plan cannot be improved upon. In order to get adequate nutrition I have to take a handful of supplements every day. Can you honestly tell me you think that is better than a glass of fresh vegetable juice? The fiber and vitamins I take very day net out to about 6 carbs compared to about 10 in a glass of juice. I promise nobody ever gained weight on any plan by drinking a glass of vegetable juice. What is so wild in my way of thinking here?

Hey go for it !!!

I can't say your not trying......

Let's just say our approaches are much different.

Your right.... a glass of self juiced veggies is going to be far better than a Jamba Juice I read some people drink......

I just see you pushing the limits on almost every level...... starting with admittedly eating food before you were supposed to....

I say do what your going to do......

I just hope that others just starting this process don't think this is some kind of normal.......

I am not sure why you think our approaches are so different. I followed my doctors plan to the letter. The extent of his plan ended last week. What I have found in my research is that low carb/high protein diets, especially long term like we are on are nutritionally deficient. That is why we have to take supplements. I would rather get as much as possible from natural sources as it fits into my plan. You are speaking under the supposition that the plan the doctors prescribe works. It doesn't always. I read more people trying to get back with the program posts than I do success stories like yours. I just think there is room for improvement in this program.

Don't get me wrong. I admire your success and I do value your opinion. If we didn't push boundaries and try new things we wouldn't be human. If our docs didn't push boundaries we would have all had RNY. There is always room for improvements.

I personal don't drink juices and I'm almost 5 months post op... I do squeeze lemon juice in water and that's it for me... I think real juices should be used for maintnance

I started juicing in a few months after my surgery. I find when I am juicing regularly (3-5x per week) my weight loss increases regardless of the calories I drink from vegetables. I feel so good when I juice regularly, I have more energy ,less cravings, I think it is because of the amount of nutrients I get when I juice.

I encourage you to juice!!!

That's what I'm talking about! Do you have a particular recipe?

Keith, every person is different. Fruits and veggies are good for you. A lot of people freak about carbs, but they are veggies! It's the healthiest most natural thing you can consume. I don't know what the calories would look like, but if you can fit it in and maybe if your doctor agrees (don't think anyone here is a nutritionist or a doctor) then I would go for it. Sounds good to me, but I'm not a doctor. I just play one on T.V.

I read all the posts and its obvious ppl have some strong negative opinions about this! my conclusion is juice like you want (8oz) and add some pulp in with it for fiber? that was the main complaint I saw. GL
