Thanks for the heads-up about the Syntrax coupon deal -- I just placed an order for 2 tubs and 2 sets of the "grab and go" packets -- I'll be traveling next month and in February, so the packets should come in handy.

I appreciate the thoughts very much. I actually have another appointment tomorrow morning to talk about next steps. So far nothing seems to be working, aside from daily platelet infusions at the hospital which isn't really a practical long term solution, lol. 

I finished the course of that new treatment, I had a slight allergic reaction the first time but it wasn't too bad and they were able to finish the IV. It hasn't worked to boost my platelets yet, but at least I'm out of the danger zone in terms of scary side effects from that treatment. 

It looks like the next thing the docs are planning for is a spleenectomy. I would love to avoid another surgery, but not sure it will be possible. My bariatric surgeon has talked to me about it as well and says that he doesn't want anyone else messing around down there so he will be performing that (if/when it's needed), which is comforting to me at least :)

I'll definitely let you know either here or on MFP when I know something and thanks again for all your support :)
