There are so many different diet plans out there so I'm just curious what everyone else was/is eating at two weeks post op.
Due to my revision happening so quickly I didn't get the chance to meet with a Nut. or discuss diet with my doctor so I have a faxed sheet of paper that is pretty vague so im kinda winging it.

I believe at 2 weeks out I was still on pureed foods so my main staples were protein shakes, cottage cheese, & eggs.  I also was able to blenderize some soups.  Yum!

Hope everything is going great for you so far!!!

My orders were for purrees yet at 2 weeks out, too. At 3 weeks I met with my nut and got the whole plan. At that time I was advanced to softs but due to my difficult recuperation I couldn't handle them. Shoot, I was still on liquids then and softs until well after 6 weeks just because of it. I can eat most things, now, at 5 months.

Does your nut have an e-mail you can ask questions with? Mine does as well as she will call me back when I call and leave a message.

I had a band-to-sleeve revision 3 weeks ago. I am really committed to a very low carb plan, and still have at least 2 protein shakes per day (I love the Syntrax fruit favors, especially Fuzzy Navel and Apple). I also still eat a fair amount of puréed tuna salad (with low-fat mayo and a little pickle relish) and Greek yogurt. I add unflavored Unjury protein powder to anything possible. I ate a couple of baby dill pickles on Christmas Eve, and my husband asked me how I was going to get the protein powder in! I puréed a head of cooked cauliflower with low-fat cheese, which I ate with a tablespoon of spaghetti sauce.

And track EVERYTHING. A digital food scale is very inexpensive; weigh and measure everything you put in your mouth; be diligent about separating eating and drinking; focus on getting in a minimum of 64 ounces of fluid and 60-70 grams of protein per day, and keep the calories low. These are all estimates, of course, and other docs' recommendations may differ a little.

For me, a miracle has occurred. I often WANT to eat, but my real physical appetite is so much decreased that it is unbelievable to me. I'm not very tech savvy and don't know how to send a "friend" request, but feel free to send me a message here if you have other questions ( or if you can figure out how to connect off the board). Best of luck to you!

I am band to sleeve also. I'm doing horrible with protein. I had a lot of nausea after surgery and am still having trouble even being on three meds. All the protein shakes I have tried come back up after the first taste. I'm only able to handle the carnation instant breakfast which doesn't provide near enough. I'm starting to get worried. I haven't tried the unflavored, is it really unflavored?... I sent you a friend request :)

At two weeks out I was still on full liquids. I mainly had 2-3 protein shakes a day and was focused on staying hydrated. Good luck!

Since you didn't really get a plan to speak of I have a link from the University of Missouri's Health Center ... they have a fairly good guideline that they hand out for people that have had the VSG surgery.  I didn't use this plan as I was lucky enough to get a well defined plan from my nutritionist.  I think that it is quite good and includes examples of meals you might have along the way.

However, if possible I would get in touch with your surgeon and see if they can't get you a better plan that they recommend or perhaps you could share this pdf with him and ask his / her thoughts on this information.

Good Luck.

I was on liquids for 3 weeks, then purée for 3 weeks before moving onto full foods.

At two weeks, I was just eating veggie broth, water, diluted cranberry juice and fruit juice Popsicles.

Purée stage was lots of eggs, tuna on water crackers, cheese and beef mince. And I chewed the bejesus out of everything as I didn't want to damage my new tummy!
