This is an extension of Elina's post/point.

I have my Godson with me for a few days. He is an athlete at a very high level. A Grand Prix Motorcycle Racer in Europe. He has been training at the Team Oracle Camp (Americas Cup).

He is a 18yo carb eating Monster (Sponsored by Monster Energy)

Today for lunch I learned him how to make "Fried Rice"

I was able to make him food for "his" body type and activity level and nutritional needs.

My point here is that "This is not just our world" we just live in it and we must be educated enough to know where the line is......

He ate a carb rich lunch and I ate a protein rich lunch..... all is good !!!

Learn to adapt !!!!! This is for life !!!!

***This is one of his two full size plates...... no rice for me....perfect !!!

OK, Frisco, was the fried rice recipe really necessary?  I am going to be almost next door to Tao Tao tonight, isn't that torture enough?  :)

Ooooo that looks really good.  I think I am going to go get some more chai tea.  Sigh.

Yes, I am painfully aware of that.  :)   Their Chinese Chicken salad and Toa Toa beef is legendary at my house.  I am going to be right next door or so and I am not having any.  Time for a little temper tantrum.  OK, I feel better now.

Part of my challenge as a mom has been learning to make foods for both myself and my child.  She's a carnivore, thank goodness, so that helps, but she still needs some complex carbs in her diet.  Good example of working one recipe for both types of diets.

My partner is Cuban and rice is king at our house...but I haven't had it in over a year. I can totally enjoy her black beans with chopped egg and onion on top without the rice. Protein rulezzzzz!

We may have a much more narrow food selection than a normie.....

But we must be able to exist in this world and live within our parameters.....

Most of us have to prepare foods for others..... could be family or friends..... but our restrictions are not theirs.

This is going to be a big hurdle for many.....

My message is that if you can't overcome this..... it's going to make WL & maintaining very hard......
