Day three of two week preop diet and first social situation handled pretty darn well!

I have been doing my 3 BA protein shakes per day and 1 sensible meal (3-4 oz of lean protein, 1 cup leafy greens and 1/2 cup of whole grain).  Tonight my hubby was playing at a local bar/restaurant and I went with my step daughter and the grandbaby.  I ordered a turkey burger (8oz) with mushrooms and a side salad instead of fries with balsalmic vinagrette.  My friend was there & she wanted to split an app of shrimp ****tail.  We split the turkey burger (I gave her the bun and a bigger half of the burger) and I had 8 shrimp and my little side salad.  It was awesome!  We both really enjoyed everything.  I figured since I couldn't find a whole grain to have, that upping my protein (the shrimp) would work.  I spent a half hour dancing with the baby, then had my glass of water with lemon in it.  Overall a relief not to feel deprived even during this strict pre-op diet.  My calories for the day were still at about 770 and my protein was over 100.  And I got in my 100 oz of water too.

I am SO ready for this.  Can't wait until the 26th!!!

Wow.  I am impressed.  As long as you keep making smart choices like this you will be very successful with the VSG.

Thanks guys!  I'm hungry, of course (my stomach is still super sized lol!) but I'm happy that I feel like I'm getting my head wrapped around this :)
