Will veggies help weight loss??

I get little to no veggies in my daily diet.  I have been stalled for about 7 weeks - I have 17 more lbs to lose.  I am focusing on proteins, very low carbs and water.  I am thinking maybe I need to add some veggies into my diet - wonder if that will help get my metabolism running again??

Sample day for me:
B: Protein coffee

S: 2oz protein, 1oz cheese

L: 3oz protein

S: Greek yogurt, string cheese

D: 3oz protein

S: Pistachios/almonds, graham cracker with pb

I stay between 800-900 calories, get around 100g protein, stay under 50 carbs, drink at least 80oz water and exercise 3-4 times per week.  I log everything into MFP.

The one thing I can see that needs work is veggies.  What are your thoughts?

Change it up briefly to trick your metabolism.   Like increase your calories for a couple of days.  Than you can lower them again.   Has worked for me in the past as a pre-op with a stall.  I don't know why it would be different post op with a stall.

As far as veggies they take a lot of space.  But I do probably have 2 -6 oz a day of veggies or fruit.  I steam or saute them cause they are easier to digest than raw for the sleeve.  I don't know if it would make much different with so little that we can fit with your weight loss.  But from a nutritional point of view it's important to eat them.  Like if you are going to have an egg you could first saute some frozen spinach and chopped onion. (2 oz approx.)  than scramble in the egg and the sprinkle about 1oz of low fat cheese on into it.  Taste great.  Apples are high in carb but they are good carbs and the old saying an apple a day keeps they doc away.  I can't fit a whole apple by any means but I'll cut a third of a small/medium one or a fourth of a large one.  They are very easy to digest which in turn helps regularity and if you keep things moving I'd think that could also help a stall.

My NUT told me "veggies before carbs"

Veggies are carbs.  When I spoke about increasing carbs I was talking about good ones.  I can't get enough fiber from veggies alone so I do add a fiber/protein bar 1 time a day to help regularity.  It's got carbs but most of them are from the fiber.

Hi, I'm considering the sleeve and am reviewing posts on this site...I love salad and am wondering, will I be able to eat salad post sleeve?

Not for a while, but eventually, yes.  You will only be able to eat a small portion of it and only after you have gotten your protein in since that is the main focus of your diet post sleeve.

Lettuce bothers some people post op.  I had trouble with it in the beginning, but can eat a few bites of it now.

I'm 3 months post op and I can barely fit much of it.  You can eat it but chew it's brains out so it will fit better.  That's what I've done.

I started eating salad again as soon as I was cleared for all foods, BUT we're talking 2-3 small bites at first - not an actual salad.

My current favourite lunch out with a girlfriend is a side salad with some sort of protein added. I've thoughtlessly ordered a meal salad a few times and ended up staring at a PLATTER of salad that I could only eat about a cup of. Takeaway containers are your friends.
