OH BOY! first foamies
Oh boy! I am almost one month out from surgery and I experienced my first bout of eating a couple of spoons too much. Foamies! I know what it is now. It feels terrible and of course I ended up vomiting... which i never do. I am using that slow down app. from now on. I ate too fast and too much. What a miserable experience. I am even a bit scared to eat or drink right now. Took more than 30 minutes to get over. Never knew my body could produce so much phlegm. Also the cold sweats and pressure (which I have felt before) was so intense.
So.... now you know..... you found the end !!!
My guess is that you ate more than a couple spoons to many and to fast......
Here are a few suggestions that should be baseline eating post VSG...
- Eat small bites well chewed
- Eat slow and progressively slower as you go
- Twenty minutes is a good amount of time for a feeding
- Moist/wet/lubricated foods go down easier. Dry chicken breast is a common "get stuck" food.
- Always eat fixed/measured amounts of food that is under your sleeve capacity
- Stop at first signs of discomfort even if your not done with your measured amount (some foods effect us differently)
- Learn what satisfied feels like. Eating till your full is how most of us got fat. You might be surprised on how little food it takes to feel satisfied with the sleeve.
Hope this helps...
