What Have You Done for YOU Lately?
I enjoy reading your posts, Keith. Lots of good stuff.
I had surgery on Friday and am back to work today. The things I am doing for myself are getting in all my protein (choking down these awful Isopure drinks) and liquids. I have not quite made it to my liquid goal yet since surgery, and I'm determined to get there today. I know it is so important.
I also hope to have the energy for a walk with the boyfriend after work.
Thanks for the encouragement!
I am going to work on balance and not burning myself out in the beginning! I am determined to get those 15 lbs off as soon as possible. I have all the pre-op stuff done. This is the only thing keeping me from surgery.
This week is going to be busy, in a good way.
Ice skating class tonight followed by practice time.
Took tomorrow off work for my CPR recertification class, good upper body workout, then Foxtrot practice with DH.
Saturday, Foxtrot dance practice with DH, long walk with neighbor's dog.
Sunday, more dance practice and kettle bells with squats.
Monday, no work, so I'm hitting the ice rink again, and more dance practice.
Tuesday, dance at work talent show, hope I don't fall off the stage.
Wednesday, long walk with neighbor's dog.
I also plan to try two new VSG friendly recipes this week. It is time to switch into summer cooking mode (no oven).
Exercising 6 days. 2 days of weight lifting, 2 days of stationary bike, 1 day of road biking and a day of running. I've popped some tags. Been hitting the cancer society thrift and am wearing more designer labels than ever at a fraction of the cost. Trying to keep the focus on diet as I close in during the month or two on my goal weight. Eating a little more (maybe 900 or 950 calories a day) and trying to keep the carb monster at bay.
Let's see...Today marks a week that I've successfully excercised every day! 5 days elliptical and 2 days walked on lunch break.
Funny thing about the work walks...everyone was so into doing it with me...until I called them to say "It's 12:30...lets go"...I went solo. But I enjoyed every moment of peace while I did it!!!
SO...this week I'm going to continue to put my excercise first, but to add time to both workouts.
I see the same thing in people. "Oh I would love to work out with you..." Then when you call you hear every reason why they can't. My favorite is "I have to lose some weight before I start exercising"
