When did hunger return for you?
Around 7 months. It's not like pre-op though. Now I have to go a while before I get hungry and it doesn't take much to satisfy my hunger.
At first I was upset about it but I decided that not ever being hungry ever is actually kind of perverse and I'm kind of glad that I have some hunger to tell me when to eat just like normal people do.
But maybe if I was one of those people who never feel hungry, I would think that was awesome too.

I am 5 years post op and I can't honestly say mine really returned. It took me a couple of years to figure it out but think of it this way. There is more than one reason to be hungry. There is head hunger, I get that full force at times. We are a population that likes to eat. One moment you are not hungry then you see a TV commercial for your favorite food and suddenly you are hungry!
Then there is Ghrelin hunger.
Then there is blood sugar hunger. When you eat carbs it is turned into blood glucose. Glucose of course makes your blood sugar high, your pancreas responds by producing insulin, then due to our body being used to getting slammed with carbs we tend to over produce insulin, the blood sugar goes a bit too low and that signals the body to feel hunger so we will eat and bring up blood glucose again. It is this one that took me a couple of years to figure out. I probably experience hunger 3-4x a month that is not carb related. If I keep carbs low I almost never feel actual hunger. I know when it is time to eat, but I can't call it hunger.
Our population really doesn't need to worry about not eating due to a lack of hunger. We didn't grow obese because we only ate when we were hungry and stopped when we were satisfied. We ate when we weren't hungry merely because it was there and ate until we were full vs. not hungry.
