Skinny People Problems

Holy cow....I'm freezing!!

It's winter here in New Zealand. I'm down south in Christchurch visiting family and friends. Now because my timing has always been excellent, NZ is currently being hit by a super cold polar blast coming straight from Antarctica with lots of snow and bitterly cold winds.

So here I am, sitting inside, with the heater and fire going, wearing 2 pairs of socks under my boots, 4 layers of clothing and a scarf....and I'm still cold!!

The 170lbs of built-in insulation I have lost would temporarily come in useful about now!!....lol

But on the upside, I went into our office down here yesterday. They havent seen me for a year or so. Three people didn't even recognise me and there were many "ummm....where's the other 1/2 of you gone!?" comments.

It's cold but fun being the new me

But congrats on the new you.

That is an awesome NSV.  Hope it warms up there and cools off here.  It was in the 90's today in New Orleans and its only going to get worse.

It's nice to have this "problem," isn't it? Enjoy the new you. By the time spring rolls around, you'll have a whole new set of skinny people's issues!

Oof, sorry about the Antarctic blast your country is dealing with at present!  The upside is that you get to play around with the layering fashion thing that the normal/skinny people have been enjoying for years now.  :)

I love your office NSV, too.  Yay, Suzy!

hi, I did not know that New Zealand received cold blasts of antartic air. I thought it was rather moderate there.

I am just at the beginning of my journey with surgery in three weeks but I have always been very hot and one of the unanticipated things I look forward to is being cold. However I do not know if  it will happen to me. a few years ago I maintained a 60 pound loss ( about half of my excess weight) for many years and I did not feel any less hot than any other time. I am sure my wife and employees would love not to have the thermostat set low.

Hi Alex. NZ usually is pretty moderate. The news reports are that this is the worst storm to hit us in decades. Lots of flooding, land slides, snow causing havoc, buildings being damaged etc. Wellington (our capital) has had 200kmph winds today, with averages of over 140kmph. 30,000 homes without power etc. My mother was supposed to fly home from Wellington tonight, but is now stuck as all flights in and out were cancelled. It's a pretty bad one and everyone is getting it, from the top to the bottom of the country.

Meanwhile, I'm now snuggled up in bed with an electric blanket going to keep skinny me toasty warm!

I get cold now too!  I'm always the first to put my sweatshirt on when the temps start to go down here at night (Minnesota).  If it's the worst side effect from WLS, I'll take it!

Congrats on your NSV!
