Frisco-Thirds
I get asked all the time by both non-WLS and WLS people.......
"How did you do it?"
This is my basic breakdown which seems pretty accurate for "Me"......
I "think" if it's pretty close for "me" it would translate to many others as I was pretty "normal" when it came to WLS and issues.
My point is that if we are weak in one area..... we must make up for it in another.
*** This is no science..... nothing I learned here or from google..... this is just a practical truth for "me" that I thought I would share as I see a lot of new people here kind of "overwhelmed" with the process...... (like we all were)
- Surgical Power and Effectiveness....... Like it or not, as a whole they are different and we all can react /respond different.
- Aftercare and Education covers everything from eating plan, exercise to strategy. This is the foundation for long term maintenance and weight control.
- Commitment and Compliance.....pretty much self explanatory.....
Hope this helps and makes some kind of sense.....

*** again... no need for panties to get bunched up if you don't believe it or it doesn't fit you.......
***edit....Elina brings up a great point in which I meant to mention.... You can chop the pie up any which way...... the key is to get the full circle for maximum results.....

It makes so much sense. And, it reiterates that WE hold the keys for 2/3 of the direct results in our success, and indirectly control the other 1/3...
Have a happy 4th, Frisco!

They say when you give up one thing you usually substitute it for another. I think you gave up heavy eating for heavy thinking! Much better for your health and overall well being, Frisco. I'll just do what you do.

I've found that the percentages change over time. The first year, it was mostly the sleeve, it did most of the work (although I was totally compliant and followed my eating plan.)
The second year took a whole lot more on my part. And now as I start my third year, and I'm grateful to have my sleeve, commitment and compliance take a lot more of my energy! Exercise has become more important, too.
