Protein Drinks!

I am sure there are a ton of posts about this so I apologize for any repetition. I start my SIX week preop diet Monday. My estimation based on the rules provides is 140 protein drinks preop.

1. Favorites?
2. Where do I get them?
3. Best place for price?
4. What sucks?

I'm pre-op too but I don't have to do a pre-op diet so I've not tried any protein drinks.  BUT, I know several people who like Syntrax.  Here is a good place to get a sample bag with your choice of a variety!

Did you try the Isopure RTD??  If so, thoughts??

I just bought 4 today.  They have 40 g protein for 20 oz.  So I only drink half.  Your body can't use 40 grams at a time and I can't drink 20 oz at a time.  They are good for on the go.  I took one to a party today and drank it while others were drinking wine, sangria and beer.  You have to shake them really well as the protein will settle. They are very pricey so wouldn't work for me daily.

I like the flavor of the BariWise with crystal light just as well, if not better.

Yeah, I remember my NUT saying the 20 g protein thing too. I'm more drawn to the fruity, crystal light type flavors versus the shake type flavors so I'm always interested in what people like. Thanks for the BariWise tip!! Have you tried just unflavored powder like unjury or something with crystal light??

I have tons of Unjury unflavored left.  Unflavored doesn't mean it has NO taste.  I sprinkled it into every thing I ate at first to get my protein up. Once I could get up to enough volume to get by without I didn't use it any more.  It has a funky smell to me.  I had the jar of it and packs to go and wish I had only bought the jar.

I've heard 20-30 g of protein at a time.

Hm, okay very good to know! I'll probably order a sample and see if I can tolerate it but I like o know others opinion first. Thanks so much for the info!!

Gnc has some good 100% whey protein powders. I use the unflavored and add it to my coffee. Good also in crystal light with crushed ice almost like a slushy. And if you don't like a gnc product you can exchange it with no questions asked.

2. Where do I get them?  unjury.com for that brand; I've purchased my Syntrax at drugstore.com, but it's widely available.  Unjury and Nashua Nutrition will sell you single-serving packets to try out the flavors they sell.

3. Best place for price?  drugstore.com gave me a good deal on the Syntrax and the shipping, but again that varies.  I've seen posts about people buying the Syntrax on amazon.com

4. What sucks?  IMVHO Bariatric Advantage Chocolate and the Syntrax Nectars suck.  Other people think the Nectars rock!
