I am not a big fan if salad but am eating a chunk if it into 6 week pre-op diet. What do you do for dressing? I don't like most dressings and struggle with vinegar. Suggestions??

If you are a fan of Ranch Dressing - you can make it subbing greek yogurt for the sour cream/mayo.  It makes it much healthier and gets you some protein!  Here is one recipe:

Ingredients
  • ⅓ cup Greek Yogurt, plain, non-fat
  • 3 tbsp buttermilk
  • 2 tbsp fresh parsley
  • ⅛ tsp garlic powder
  • ½ tsp garlic paste
  • 1 tsp vinegar
  • ⅛ tsp dill, or to taste
  • salt and pepper to taste

Instructions
  1. Place Greek yogurt in a sieve and allow excess liquid to drain.
  2. In a medium bowl, stir together strained Greek yogurt, parsley, vinegar, garlic powder, garlic paste and dill. Season to taste with salt and pepper.
  3. Add buttermilk. If mixture is too thick, add more buttermilk for desired consistency.
  4. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving to allow flavors to come together.

You can mix dressing/dip packets straight w/ greek yogurt & they're really good.  I'd thin it with some milk.  I haven't tried it but I bet salsa & cottage cheese would make a good dressing.

I use Walden Farms dressings. I have pureed cottage cheese with greek yogurt and added some taco seasoning for a dressing.

I prefer just a very small amount of really good olive oil. Yummy-O!

I've always eaten my salad 'naked'. Plenty of good, juicy tomatoes provide all the dressing a good salad needs! (I REALLY like tomatoes. *grin*)

I use Bolthouse Farms yogurt dressings. They have a few different flavors. 45 calories per serving (2 tbs), so the stats are awesome and the flavors are very tasty! I find them in my produce isle at the grocery store.
