Good News!

Well for those of you who followed my weekend of debauchery and trip to the dark side, the good news is that coming back to eating clean was rather easy. Have not been able to eat much at all today, good restriction and so far super low carb and clean. No cravings which is what I was most worried about. Already feeling better.

Something I realized about this past weekend is that I got about 1/10th of the water I needed to get. I came home and drank about 30 oz of water before I had to urinate so I was very dehydrated and I am retaining water as a result.

The even better news is that my gain was not significant and is at least partially attributable to water retention, which hopefully will dump before tomorrow.

The best part is that I am feeling so much better, even with a cold, that I am super motivated to continue to eat healthy.

AWESOME, I know I feel better than I have in a long time, with detox from caffeine and carbs and I'm not to surgery date yet. the 19th.

Your all over it.

It's not what you did last weekend that defines the moment, it's how you recover.  You have a plan, you are working your plan.

It's amazing how much better I feel when I eat clean.  When I do venture off into the dark side, that type of food makes me feel icky.

I wonder, have I always felt like this and just did not know?   I need to remember that feeling.

The real problem is not that you did or did not notice it, I think you probably always felt better if you ate clean, but before starting this process and even now it is much easier to eat convenience foods. In reality it doesn't take that much longer to slice up a cucumber than it does to open a bag of chips, but the chips have a lot more flavor and trigger the pleasure centers of your brain. You can rationalize that its not good for you, but we are not really rational creatures. Taste trumps health. But we took such extreme measures to get healthy this time around, its much easier to wrap our brain around slicing up a cucumber to avoid the pre-op diet. the surgery, the post up food phases, etc. Would I do it all over again? for sure, but lets hope I don't ever have to.
