I'm 11 months out and wondering if I can take Motrin now. I thought it was just for the healing period but not sure.

I have awful  back pain that flares on and off whenever it feels like it. Tylenol does nothing. I miss Motrin.

I would call my doctor and talk to him just to be sure. You wouldn't want to do anything to mess up your good work.

always best to talk to your doctor, he/she may be able to give you something better than ether of thoses , maybe something that can help heal your back like a muscle relaxer

Per drugs.com: Motrin (ibuprofen) is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID).

We were told NO NSAIDS ever again.

Call your doctor to get a non-NSAID med for your back.

RNYers are told that about NSAIDs in our group but we were told specifically that VSGers CAN take NSAIDS. One of the reasons many people choose VSG. Best to call your doctor.

I chose VSG due to my need to take motrin as I have fibromyalgia and back problems from a car accident. I was told I could take it as needed as long as its not every day.

It's fine to take NSAIDS like Ibuprofen with the sleeve. Yet another advantage over the RNY. Do check w your doc tho. I just play one on TV!

It seems we are told some different things about taking Ibuprofen or Aleve (or other NSAID medications) after having VSG. My doctor is one who said not to take them. I would ask your doctor to find out for sure what his suggestions are for pain medicine.
