3-days post-op VSG - How do I get rid of gas?

Surgery and recovery went well! No complications, very little pain, if any at all, and I bounced out of the bed the first day, and took off walking, leaving the nurse to "catch me if you can" LOL

My only problem is getting rid of all this gas they pumped me with. I have been belching everyday, all day long since the surgery! Any suggestions on how to get rid of this gas that has all my innards bouncing around?

walking, walking and more walking...as much as you can do so soon after surgery.  Some swear by gas x but it never really helped me any.  :)

I do think walking is your best bet right now.  I think it will just take a little more time to get rid of it all.  Congrats on being sleeved!

Welcome to the losers bench.

Walking.  Thats it.  Have I mentioned walking?  Honestly moving around as much as you can, and getting as much water and protein as you can is the best way to heal from any surgery.  The walking also helps the bas work its way out.

Walk, walk, walk, and then walk, walk some more!! It really does help with getting that gas moving. I also took chewable simethecone gas tablets, they seemed to help too. From what I've been reading on here, they help some and not others. But the walking is a must!!

Walking helps but I had really bad gas and those melt away gas x things are heaven sent!

There is the gas they pump you full and all have already said walking.  Now they other that leads to belching and farting Gas-X melts.  I used them when I was banded but didn't need them when sleeved.

I walked and belched so much at night my parrots picked it up and belch and it sounds just like I did.

BAND REMOVED 9-4-12-fought insurance to get sleeve and won! Sleeved 1/22/13! Five years out and trying to get that last 15 pounds back off.

Thank you all for your suggestions! I walked around the market today, and got really light-headed! But I think that was due to the fact that I hadn't had a meal. My taste buds changed and I couldn't get the protein drink down, so I went to market to get a different kind than OptiSource.
