This is a stupid question, but do I count coffee with milk in it as a liquid or food?  I  know when I drink it black it's liquid, but if I were to get an iced latte is it a drink or a snack?

Liquid, but make sure not to ignore the calories in everything you consume. But in terms of liquids the liquid you really care the most about is water because it carries waste from your body.

I am on nexium right now and wondered if my acid will get worse as time goes on?  I keep hearing the acid can get pretty bad, just wondered since I am not eating much right now if it will be worse after I get on soft and regular foods?  Thanks K

I think everyone is a bit different. My acid has pretty much gone away completely. Some do get worse.

I got acid reflux after surgery. I was able to stop my reflux meds after about 6 months. I get a little bit every great once in a while that I will take a Tums for, but nothing bad and not enough to warrant continuing the meds.

How do I haul my fat ass of the couch to exercise and where should I start? Exercise is daunting!

Just grab it with both hands and lift. I'm sorry, I could not resist. . Seriously, you start a little at a time. First you walk to the end of the block and back. You do this until you start noticing the squirrels, birds and the gorgeous sunrise or sunset. Then you extend your distance until you can walk around the block. Put some classical music on the radio, stand up and pretend you are the conductor and put that orchestra through its paces. Go to water aerobics, which is easy on your joints. It doesn't have to be hard. You just need to start moving. Good luck, I loved your post. You made me smile.

Love it!  And it's so true - start with just walking.  Try to get a little out of breath and sweaty for 30-60 minutes a day.  The more you do it, the more confident you get, and it starts to become not just a habit, but something you look forward to!
