4 month Check-In
So the 10th was my 4 month anniversary since VSG. I started this journey at 338lbs, lost 10lbs before surgery so day of surgery I was 328. Today, I am 237. I lost 101 lbs total, 91lbs since surgery. All of my bloodwork and vitamin levels are perfect. I no longer have high blood pressure or thyroid issues. I know I still have a ways to go even after losing 101lbs but I am happier and healthier than I have been in years. While I wish I was one of you who started your journey at the weight I am now, I accept my journey as is and know it is unique to me. This has been the most amazing journey and I look forward to contiuning. If any of you remember, while my surgeon was doing my surgery she discovered a large growth of blood vessels on my spleen. She has ordered a CT scan for my six month and will schedule surgery after that. I am nervous but it just shows me that again this surgery is saving my life. I shed away from doctors as my weight increased so who knows if this issue would have been found in time to remove before causing an aneurysm. Doctor joked that since I will be having surgery again it will help me lose more weight!
So yes, if your are considering VSG--do it! It can save your life in more ways than you may even know.
