Hey all,

How many ounces of protein do you eat at a meal (clean, dense protein), and how far out from surgery are you?

For me, I am at 2.5 ounces typically and I am coming up on 4 months out.  I am trying to figure out if I should start up-ing that or adding more/some veg.

I'm at about 3.5 months out, and I can eat 2 oz if I eat it really slowly, say like 45 minutes.  I'm WAY too full if I eat more than that.

I am six months out and can eat 2-3 ozs. Have no desire to have any more than that once I get that in.

I am 10 months post op. I always measure out 2oz of protein (chicken/turkey) and up to 1/4 cup of veggies. That is enough for me. Sometimes I can eat 3oz of fish alone.

You can eat more later. It was at least 6 months before I could eat more than 2 ounces of chicken.  That is still hardest meat to eat for me.

Almost 16 months, and I can generally manage about 2 ounces. I actually get most of my protein from low fat dairy and legumes now. I eat fish or chicken 2-3 times a week.

We did the cold cuts wrapped around string cheese for a bit, and enjoyed it, but now I find cold cuts unbearably salty. Cottage cheese, Greek yogurt, veggie ground round and beans are my friends.

I shoot for 2-3oz all the time have since week 5 post op (am 4 months now).  At lunch I tack on a few bites of veggies and at dinner a little hummus, laughing cow cheese wedge, and 2x crackers.

That tends to keep me pretty full.

8 and a half months out I can eat 3 oz of protein.  I always weigh my protein before I eat so I have not eaten more than that.  I can comfortabley eat an additional half cup of veggies or fruit, (usually--some days less, rarely more)

I'm 11 months out and eat 2 ounces per meal along with my vegetables. I do eat a lot of Greek yogurt and cottage cheese to keep my protein up also.
