9 months post surgery

Hi all,

Its my surgiversary - 9 months post op.  I cannot believe how grateful I am that I did the surgery.  Sometimes I say to myself  "I weigh 208 pounds, and I can't believe its real."  I was 385 pounds a little over a year ago.

My weight loss has slowed, so I've had to reset my thinking. Every pound lost is now to be celebrated without consideration of timing. I feel like I'm going to slowly slip into maintenance as my weight loss slows to a final stop.  But that's ok.  I am healthy and I am mobile, and I am so pleased with where I am.

My surgery group predicted I'd lose 50% of Excess body weight in the first 6 months and 25% in the second.  They were right on for my 6 month weight.  So if the one year weight is equally accurate, I'll be within 8 pounds of goal by one year.

All of you who are contemplating surgery, I just want you to know it works.  For all who are in the process,  take a moment and appreciate how far you've come.  this is life-changing stuff!

blessings,

Carol

Hi Cappy,

I just re-joined OH as I am considering removal of my lap band and having the vertical sleeve done.  I am looking for post surgery members who will give me info, feelings, etc., about their experience since surgery.  I would love to hear from you if you won't mind.  Thanks,  Sunshine

So happy for you Carol,  my sleeve sister!

I look forward to reading your posts, your alway so upbeat and have many good insights

that I like to keep in mind esp when I'm struggling...

I have to always keep in my mind your statement of " were healthy and Mobile and to celebrate every pound,

no mater when it decides to leave us"

as we have lost we must give thanks to what we have gained...
