I'm laying here in bed, relaxing,  and decided to check my pulse. I check my carotid, and get 50. I think,  that couldn't possibly be right. So i check my radial and get the same thing. It's low,  But i know I'm also laying down before bed, relaxing my body. Even so,  50?? I think the lowest I've ever gotten is 64-68 while relaxing. I'm usually a solid 72.

To me,  this is very exciting. Solid proof that my body isn't requiring my heart to pump as hard as it was. Obviously I'm going to check with my doctor,  But I'm pretty excited! I can't wait to have my vitals officially checked at my appointment Wednesday!

Who knew doctor appointments could be so exciting?

I get very excited about my resting heart rate too - before surgery it was 80-82.  These days it's 64-68.  I use a heart rate monitor when I exercise, so know how high it should go as well!

Sometimes heart rate decreases just from a large calorie deficit. Part of the body conserving. Should be fine if you don't feel icky. In college I severely restricted and my pulse was 29. That was freaky
