180 to lose?
I'm actually about to cross the 180 mark! I started 495, and I'm 319 this week. I started preop @ 387, and was 361@ discharge. You can do it. Follow your plan, grit through the hard times, and communicate with trusted veterans as much as you can. Laugh, cry, get pissed off, and never ever give up. Most of all, believe in yourself like you never have before and remember that you aren't alone in your fight!

Hi,
I am 10 months post op and I've lost 183 pounds in 13 months. I have another 20 to go.
In terms of experience, I can tell you that I follow my plan diligently. I exercise daily for 12 to 25 minutes - so not a lot, but every day. I stay low carb (

Well my goal weight comes from the fancy machine that takes my weight and diagnoses excess weight, bone weight % of fat, etc, etc....I am not sure what the machine is called, but it is what told me my goal weight of 159. I cannot imagine 159. At 180 (the smallest I remember being), I was thin. I feel like 159 at 5'11" is crazy, but then again, so is weighing 335, so what do I know lol
I'm 5'5 and I set my goal at 180...:) I was thinking for a minute that I should probably be the one at 159!!! I honestly don't know what the right answer is but was more curious about how YOU felt about the goal. I wish you the best of luck in your journey!!! You'll figure it out as you go along. I'm 1.2 pounds from goal and it's been 9 months since surgery. I feel fantastic and have nothing but good things to say about WLS. I turned 40 about a week before surgery and so far my forties have been AWESOME. So many things have been revealed to me in this process, things that I had no idea about. GOOD LUCK!!!
I'm having RNY not VSG but being 5'11" as well I had to reply. My surgery is 3/11 (it's coming up so quick!) And my starting weight will be about 320, my own personal goal is 150. In my early 20's I had gotten down to about 165 but 150 was always my goal even then. I will certainly be happy just getting in the 100's though! Good luck!
