When to Eat Low Fat and When Not to (and how to use carbohydrates correctly)
I'm not sure why you think you would get blow back for this post. Here's why:
600 - 800 calorie typical WLS food plan, with 80-100 grams protein, 20-40 grams carbs would = 320-400 calories protein, 80-160 calories carbs. That comes out on the high side to 560 calories. To round it out to a high of 800 calories for the day you need another 240 calories, which equates to 27 grams of fat.
So the typically prescribed WLS diet we read about here on OH all the time works out to be:
50% protein, 30% fat and 20% carbohydrate. Doesn't this sound about right and what you support?
Now, during WL I never counted my fat grams, but I kept very careful track of my protein and carbs and calories. I typically ate between 80 & 100 grams of protein and about 30 grams carbs, and usually between 700 & 800 calories, so I think I was always well within the fat consumption range.
