Instant Coffee vs. Real Deal
So a couple of months back (maybe 6 or so) I used to put instant coffee in my morning protein shake to sort of get a little caffeine boost. I never felt very good afterward but chalked it up to my VSG and just the various other things that go along with the occasional dizziness that we all get, etc. Well I stopped doing that for a long time but I have been drinking regular coffee in the mornings at work and never had any issue. This morning when I was making my protein shake I was trying to use up some old protein powder so I can get the tub out of my cupboard. Its not that great of a flavor so I tried doctoring it up a bit with some sugar free syrups and some instant coffee. I feel like ASS right now. I am dizzy and nauseous. It dawned on me this is how I used to feel back then. The only real difference is the instant coffee. Guess I need to take that crap off the list. Interesting how when you learn to listen to your body you can determine the things that are not good for you.
The body is soo interesting and complex. A few years ago I was suffering from "attacks" to which I thought were gallbladder but turns out my gallbladder is PERFECT and even the sludge I had preop has cleared up. The doctor told me it was acid and to stop coffee. Well yes I'm hard headed and didn't because I would only have attacks at work. Turns out it was the coffee that a local coffee house used, they were giving out coupons for free cups when they first opened. I went off that coffee, but stayed on the brewed here at work. After a few months I came across the coupon and figured "why not" I was in the more horrific pain. Yeah I wouldn't go to this coffee house for anything now. I have NO idea what could be in this coffee, because Starbucks and other places coffee did nothing to me. Go figure!
