Weight Lost Slowed Down
I was sleeved almost 7 months ago. I weigh myself weekly (same day of each week) for progress updates. Up to this point, I have lost a total of 57 pounds. I noticed I am not loosing as much as I was before 3-5 pounds per week. I seem to be averaging around 1 pound per week. I am getting my protein, but may not not fully 60 grams which is challenging. I can't eat any more than 2 ounces in one setting (if that). I am working on increasing my water intake, but that is hard cause I work overnight. Everything is so off and I want to get back to loosing 3-5 pounds per week. Please hep and point me back in the right direction.
I found my weight loss dropped off significantly after 6 months. My second 6 months were about 1/2 the rate of the first 6 months. I did increase calories a little, but its mostly that we don't burn as many calories when we are carrying less weight with us. My first 6 months I was eating less than 800 calories a day. Now I'm eating between 1000 and 1100 per day. I seem to need more calories to be satisfied now.
Best of luck,
Carol

I use MyFitnessPal to track what I eat. Every bite, lick, taste goes in to MFP, and it calculates them for me. Been using it since pre-op days and it has helped tremendously. If I didn't use it, I wouldn't know if I'd hit my protein goals daily.

Glad to see that I am not the only one who has done this--I'm averaging between 900-1100 calories daily, but I'm also a lot more active now than I used to be.

Losing about 1-2 lbs. per week after you're 7 months out? Doesn't sound bad to me. If you started off as a lightweight that is FABULOUS loss. The closer you get to goal the slower and slower it will be. And it's not because you're doing anything wrong. The closer to goal you are, that 1 lb. per week is a pretty good percentage of your total body weight.
If you aren't getting at least 80 grams of protein at 7 months out you're not eating enough or often enough. If you can only do 2 oz. at a sitting then you need to be eating protein 5 times a day. You should also be drinking at least 80 oz. of water a day. Focus on those two things and just be happy with consistent steady loss even if it's only 1/2 lb. a week. Lots of people struggle with that at 7 months out.
