Hi Stacy,
I'm one month post surgery and I've lost 19 pounds. I was hoping for a bit more but my expectations may have been too high. I've been tracking my calories and food in myfitnesspal. I was just wondering what a good calorie goal is? I've gradually upped my calories this month but would like to know what might be too much? I'm on full solids except for one protein shake a day to keep my protein high.
Thanks for your help?
Shannon
Shannon - I think 19 lbs in one month is great. Congratulations!
I'm not a doctor or nutritionist, so I would definitely recommend you speak with them. I just checked my logs and I was at about 700 calories per day one month post op. I was cleared for cardio and did workout most days. I would focus on getting lots of water and protein. You probably wont be able to get much other than protein in and a little veg for variety. Again this is my experience -- I would definitely talk to you surgeon's team.
It seems like it is slow, but the months will snowball together. Think about it 19 lbs / month is 228 lbs / year -- so just be patient.
Yum sushi!! I am envious!
