Does the 5 day pouch test work for the sleeve ?

I had the sleeve in March 2012 initially lost around 40 lbs.  I busted my butt eating right and exercising but nothing would move.  I called my surgeon but he moved to another state with no notice.  ..  So I lost all motivation ..  Now I have gained back everything.  I can eat anything and everything no restriction.  I wondered if there is a way to test my stomach?  Will the 5day pouch test work for the sleeve?

It's a gimmick that doesn't work for anyone.  The way to "test" your stomach is to have an endoscopy.  If you can't go to a different bariatric surgeon in your area, go to a GI doc.

The best way to get back on track is to weigh, measure, and log everything you put into your mouth.  Lots of people find MyFitnessPal to be useful for this.  See exactly what you're eating, chances are your carbs and calories have crept up.  Work to get 60-80 grams of protein a day, 80-100 ounces of water, and keep your carbs low to moderate depending on what sort of cravings they trigger - definitely remove refined/processed carbs from your diet and try to stick to fruits and vegetables instead.

Personally, I think that the 5DPT is a gimmick. If you want to test your restriction, weigh and measure some PLAIN lean, dense protein (chicken, turkey, beef, etc) and see how much you can eat without becoming over-full. There are 1,000 opinions on how much a "good" or "normal" sleeve can/should hold, so I won't add to any confusion there. But for comparison's sake, I will just say that, at one year out, I can eat about 5 oz of dark meat chicken in one sitting and feel full.

I'm sorry that it seems like you had so little support post op. I would strongly suggest that you get in touch with a local bariatric surgeon who can monitor your long-term followups and possibly refer you to their cooperating nutritionist.

Best of luck, dear. Please keep us posted on your progress. This board is a great place for motivation and accountability! Also, you may know this already, but there is a handy "search" feature in the upper-right corner (shaped like a magnifying glass) that can help you access archives if you feel that you have a question or a problem that others have likely faced before. That way you can see others' previous answers without having to wait for replies!

Do you have your medical records?  I would get them and then contact a gastro.  I did the 5DPT, but that was just to decarb one time.  Do you not feel any restriction?  Like the others said you can get the same results by eating 3-4 oz. of  protein. Then wait, don't drink and see if you feel the restriction.  I mean physically feel the restriction.  If you do, then your sleeve works.  Wishing you well.

It's a crash diet. It is not a test. Therefore, it "works" for anyone even none WLS peeps. That is to say, it works as well as any crash diet. You may lose 5-10 pounds of water weight or you may not and then you are back where you started.

Here is a more detailed explanation of why I hate it:
