Horrible acid reflux

It's gotten really bad the last few days. Of all things, Tums helps ... but not enough. I haven't tried Prilosec, though. Is that preferable to the generics?

A PPI is better than Tums, yes.  You can get Prilosec and Nexium over the counter (I think you can get Prilosec generic, not sure about Nexium).

I'm going to the drugstore today! I don't think Tums and ginger tea are quite doing it.

I would call your surgeon for guidance.

Dexilant, which is a prescription, works the best for me bar none. None of the OTC drugs are sufficient, but I could be one of the unlucky ones.

Good idea about calling my surgeon!

When I went to my education class they straight up told us to be ready to take Prilosec for the first 3 months. During liquids I was fine, but over the weekend I've moved to purées and starting to feel a little bit of a tingle/burn. So I might be going to pick some of that up soon.

Prilosec Complete is aaawesome! I had surgery almost 5 years ago but my reflux has been bad the last couple of years. Then I got pregnant and OMG the reflux was awful. I was popping Tums like candy and my perinatologist suggested Prilosec. Changed my life! I could take ONE and instantly felt better. Now that I'm not pregnant anymore the reflux isn't as horrible, but the Prilosec still works like a dream. (I don't work for Prilosec, but I do love 'em!)
