Hi Boni    Congratulatiosn on having surgery next month.  I noticed that you're in SoCal too, and wondered who your surgeon will be.  I know there's not many of them that do the single incision vertical sleeve.

Recovery can depend on many things.  If you're thinking in terms of how quickly you can return to work, it depends on how physically demanding your job can be.   I felt good after two weeks, but took four weeks off just to rest and let my body heal.  You will get tired easily as your body is healing.

Good luck!

Hello geekMOnster :) Yes i am in So Cal my Surgeon is Dr. Houman Solomon located in Torrance,CA he is THE BEST !! I was kind of undecided when he offered the single incision vertical sleeve because i wasn't familiar with it but now after all the research i have done I am more comfortable proceeding with the single incision rather than the 5/6 small incisions.

In regards to my job i work in a Doctors office... position is Intake Coordinator so I'm sitting down and on the phone all day. I was thinking of only getting one week off since the doctor said recovery time is much faster with the single incision vertical sleeve.

My surgeon told me that many of his patients have been able to return to work after one week, so it's entirely possible.  I'm just a lazy old fart and wanted as much time off as I could get

Good luck and keep us posted.  I'm sure you'll do great.

Thank you... im lazy myself...lol they just wont approve my time off since we are short staff (girl out on maternity leave)  so my surgery might have to be postponed

Who is your surgeon out here in So Cal?

Justin Braverman from the N.E.W. Program at Chapman Medical Center.  He's one of the few surgeons with great technical skill and a wonderful bedside manner.  Do you have Kaiser as your insurance?
