It's been over two years since I have been her on Obesity Help. Summer of 2012 I went through all the preliminary tests and was all ready to have the VSG when my insurance denied me, and my appeals. For the last 2 1/2 years I have lost and gained the same 20 pounds over and over. After my labwork came back in December with my just under Diabetic numbers, both my internist and  cardiologist strongly recommended I get this surgery. So I am going to self-pay and have my date. I am so relieved. I just saw my Surgeon two days ago, and I am having my surgery in two weeks, with my pre-ops next week.

My family and friends don't understand why I am doing this (With my being 100 pounds overweight, I would think it obvious), so am depending on on-line support.

I had surgery on Wednesday and I can already tell, this is one of the best decisions I've made in my life. It's worth every penny of the self pay.  I've had very little discomfort. I really can't call it pain. The nurses have been wonderful. One of my nurses had surgery 8.5 weeks ago and she has stopped by to talk many times.

Good luck and best wishes on your surgery!
