Calcium Citrate

Those are tricalcium phosphate.  The  OP is asking about calcium citrate, which is what the ASMBS recommends for all WLS folks.

I take my calcium citrate in pill form.  If you want a chewable, you'll probably have to order online.  I started my vitamins the day after my surgery.

I get Calcium Citrate chews from Bariatric Advantage.

My surgeon wanted me to start at 2 weeks post-op.  The ASMBS says to start right away.

I'm in Canada too, and I was having trouble finding calcium citrate that wasn't a HUGE pill to swallow. (I have enough pills to handle, so the ones I take need to be easy or I'll avoid them like the plague.)

I found two good options:

1. Bariatric Advantage Calcium Citrate Chews (500 mg). I love the caramel! I hear good things about the chocolate too. And I see they have peanut butter flavour as well. Yum!

2. Citrical Petites (400 mg). I am told these are in Canadian Walmart stores, but I couldn't find them. I did find them in Walmart in the USA though (about $10 per bottle). And they can be ordered online as well.

I was told to wait a week or two after surgery to start my vitamins, but I know each program is different. Consult with your centre and your surgeon for the directive on this. Wishing you lots of luck!

Keep in mind that the Citracal Petites are 400 mg calcium citrate per TWO pills.  So they are 200 mg per pill.
