I know it will be worth it but these hunger pains are brutal!! All I want us a salad! I'm having trouble getting the shakes in.. Bc I want salt.. Veggie broth has been helpful.. But now I'm so hungry it's physically painful!

The liquid diets are anything but fun. It will get better after surgery because you shouldn't have the hunger pain. The hardest part for me was the head hunger. Just think this is all short term and will be worth it in the end! It was hard for me but thinking that helped get me through the liquid phase. Good luck:)

Hang in there - it definitely will get better!  I had such fear of doing something wrong that could result in complications, that when I got hungry, I thought of that and it helped.  Have you tried plain greek yogurt, mixed with instant sugar free powder?  The pudding mix (not pistachio flavor, as it has pieces of nuts) thickens the yogurt, giving it a nice texture.  I found that to be more filling than the shakes, and a cup has lots of protein.  You've made it this far, so you're in the home stretch!  Good luck!!!

I was having a lot of Greek yogurt for most of pre op because I could have solids but today and yesterday are just shakes, broth, jello and Popsicles.. Meh!

The pre-op liquid stage is tough. Just keep focusing on the fact that in two days you will no longer feel hunger. You are almost there! :-) Kay

The liquid diet sucks for everyone, I think.  Especially pre-op.  Broth is good, but make sure you're getting your shakes in - your body needs the protein.  Try out Unjury Chicken Broth protein powder or the unflavored Unjury if the sweetness of the shakes is a deterrent.

I FEEL YOUR HUNGER PAIN!!!  I have been on the shake diet (no broth allowed) for 1 week now and I have 1 more week to go.  I would love to have some broth but that will come soon enough.  The good news is that I dropped 10 lbs in 1 week, so that is my reward and it will be your reward as well.  This is what will help us get through until surgery.  Good luck:).
