Constant stomach issues

Hi all,

VSG performed in 2015.

Since then, I've had my gall bladder removed and been treated for H. Pylori. I have GERD now, and take a daily medication for reflux. I also have ulcers in my esophagus. The doctor says that I also have gastroparesis (if I spelled that right).

I STILL have a constant burning pain in my stomach. Every. Time. I. Eat. I am being scheduled for another UGI series because it still hurts like hell. I still feel so full after just a few bites.

Anyone else have constant digestive issues

I have, but not nearly severe as you. H. Pylori, GERD, Gallbladder out, and a large hiatel hernia repaired post VSG. I also have trouble swallowing pills, but don't recall what the official diagnosis on that was. I have the GERD under control, but struggle with digesting even minimal amounts of fat after losing the gallbladder.

I hope they are able to pinpoint what the issue is for you and get some relief. That is a lot to deal with.

I recommend asking your surgeon about revision to RNY. GERD is not an unknown complication of VSG and esophageal cancer is nothing to trifle with! RNY can resolve the GERD.

I'm sorry you're having to deal with this.

I pretty much live on Zofran because I'm nauseous everytime I eat or drink. They took out my gallbladder because they thought that was the culprit but turns out it wasn't. I also take omeprazole daily for stomach acid because I get really bad reflux.

Have you been screen for a hiatel hernia by chance? That was causing nausea issues for me. Also, post losing my gallbladder I cannot digest fat very well- when i eat some (too much) nausea is one of the issues that it triggers. I hope your nausea improves.
