So sick, throat

I am so sick with a sore throat, I have been gargleing  with sal****er,  then mouthwash,  and using cloarseptic spray,  and gargling with hydrogen peroixide.  All day taken turns and nothing seems to be helping.

That's a bummer. I've been battling a cold as well, so I can definitely relate. One thing that helps me is putting some Metholatum/Vick Vapor Rub on my neck & chest. --BT

I dont have none and dont feel like going after any.. Maybe I will send my DH out after some when he gets home.  I hope it isnt a cold but they have been going round here. But I have no cough or runny nose or nothing, just kinda weak and iggy feeling and a sore throat.  Thanks

I had a viral sore throat about a month ago.  I was pretty much out of commission with it because nothing really helped.  Time.  That's what the doctor told me. Have you seen a doctor yet?  It could be strep. I took the tylenol liquid cold medicine (day and night) so I could sleep at night and function during the day.  Don't know how you'd do with the sugar in that (or maybe find one of the diabetic tussins?). Hey, did you ever hear back from WalMart about the job?  What happened?  And thanks for being honest, too.  Gave you a lot more answers I'm sure than if we'd tried anything vague at all. Lori

No I havent seen a doc yet. I will go Monday if it isnt better by then. I hope it isnt strep. I have never had that yet.  I do have some alka seltzer cold medicine Do you think it will help. I guess I need to read what is in it. I havent heard nothing from walmart but they did call a reference.

I think the carbonation may not be your  best friend here.  It sometimes burns in your throat normally and now, with your smaller stomach and sore throat.  Ouch.  If you think you can do it, maybe let it go a little flat and try a very small amount first.  Have you had ANY carbonation since surgery?  If not, this probably wouldn't be the best time to try.

No I havent had any carbination since surgery.  I wasnt a heavy pop drinker before so it isnt something I miss.  I probable shouldnt go there. Thanks.

poor rie rie, please don't do alka seltzer. it has aspirin i think. just tell hubby to go get something.i hope you get better soon. don't forget you have to call and check soon at wal-mart. you can do it. forget the other thing unless they bring it up, ok? did you say you are gargling? do you have any hot tea, and lemon? try till hubby gets home. hugs--kath b.

There's a throat lozenge(sp) called Cold EEZ that has zinc in it. I heard the pharmasist suggest it to someone the other day.

Rie Rie, Can you tell if your glands are swollen under your neck or ears?  If so, you'll probably need an anti-biotic, and they'll culture your throat to make sure it's not strep. Feel better soon!   Holly
