Adjustments to all this new clothing.
ok here's the deal. I love being thin. Yes, I did this for my health but cannot tell a lie. Vanity is catching up with me. did I mention that I love being thin and I love off the rack easy to buy reasonable and not so reasonable clothes.
The hard part is finding my own sense of style. I am 38 I am 5'10" and weigh 160. I need to avoid clothing that draws attention to my tummy (plenty of skin). Don't want to dress too young and definitly don't want to dress old. Anybody else have this struggle and how did you figure it out?
Thanks
Any time I have to buy something other than the standard mom outfit (jeans & a top) I call in my mom and sister because they've always been thin, but carried what little weight they had in their chests and bellies. Now that I'm only 20 lbs from goal we wear very much the same style. They are so much better at picking out clothes that will fit me and look good than I am. Try to find someone whose sense of style you admire and ask them to go shopping with you. After a few trips with other people, you'll feel more comfortable on your own.
Hi I just buy what I like and what fits me and hide all my excess skin and looks nice. Sometimes I do think that I am buying things that are a little young looking but then again....who cares !!! You are only as young as you feel and right now I feel better than I did in my 20's and that is good for a 50 + yr. old. LOL I would just be conservative and buy things that are comfortable but somewhat stylish and go with it.

Hi Tonya,
I have been watching TLC's What Not To Wear. It gives some valuable tips on what styles go best with what body types. It has helped me to NOT buy clothes that are totally out.
Otherwise I'd be dressing for the 80's again, that's the era that I had leftover clothes from. LOL
Thank you TLC
BTW, my teenagers actually like what I buy now, that's got to be a miracle
Personally I buy what I like, and yup shop in the juniors dept frequently. I so can't see myself in some of the fashions supposably made for womyn my age. I asked my boyfriend the other day if those were the clothes I was supposed to be wearing and he just laughed at me. He thought Chico's was a riot, I just can't dress like that. I waited too long to be on this side of the single digits and I will be damned if I am gonna look like an old fart. Boots are really a girls best friend.
Hugs Heidi
