Wow... afraid of getting blood work done...

LOL I have no definate reason behind it but I have found myself pushing off getting the bloodwork my doctor has requested done!  It's like some part of me is saying, "You dont need it."  another part is saying "Gah, it's just going to be more bad news!" then there's "You just had wisdom teeth pulled no need to torture yourself further." and the list of (admittedly) excuses to avoid getting it done. I cant quite figure out the exact root of my procrastination and fear of getting the blood work done.

Why do you think it will be more bad news? As long as you are taking your vitamins and supplements you will be fine.  I hate bloodtests, especially needles and yet I had mine tested and everything was great.  My pcp said she wished her levels were as good as mine, she would be jumping for joy.  I know how badly I want plastic surgery because I recently had a blood test for that, and it went very easily.  I used to be a terrible stick, 5 tries and multiple visits, now is a cinch.  Go get your blood work, worst case scenario is you have to take more vitamins or proteins supplements. Hugs Heidi

... I havent been all that good with the vitamins... 90% of the time my vitamins and pouch have a knock out drag out confrintation leaving me weak and nasueated.   I dont have a problem with needles just kinda afraid of the results I suppose.

I do not like needles ....not one bit ! But figure after having this surgery I would rather be safe than sorry. My last labs were fine so that is good.  Just like Larry the Cable guy says "Get' Er Done " Sandy

Well consider the flip of the situation...if you don't do it and there is something wrong then you won't know.  But at least if you do it and there is something wrong...it can be caught in time.  Which would you rather have?  The balls in your court... Moni

Hey girlie I can kind of see where your coming from here as i don't think anyone really likes needles. But and thats a big but btw. If you do not get this done and something is wrong how would you know without getting it done? I'm not scolding here but take my situation I'm extremely anemic to the dangerous point. without the blood work I would of never known I may have just gone to take a nap one day and just not woke up and that came very close to happening. So please don't put off something that is meant to help you if you need it. You've made the choice to change your life with wls now we want you to keep healthy by just making sure things are the way it should be. *hugs*

I wish the best on getting away from the anemic situation.  I will get my blood work done, I know it's important.  I suppose I just dont want a bad call.

Hon, get your tests, what's the worst that could happen? Your blood levels too low? your Vit counts  too low? Easily fixed. I actually want to know! Why? So I can take pro-active action!  Don't let your fears ovetake you.
