
Your post made me smile...I work in a hospital and have been fortunate to have had a great post op course. There are other employees in the hospital who have also had WLS. .Not being the first, was a blessing. I have heard all the comments and tried to remain positive...this has made me even more determined to take this journey seriously. I need to be a good example of what is possible after WLS; I want to be healthy for my family and friends.
The problem with health care workers discussing WLS is that these folks only see sick WLS patients...they know what it looks like to have a stricture, perforation, malnutrition, dehydration....the list is in your consent for surgery. Hospital folks don't see healthy WLS patients because we look normal and do not require their services...if you want info on a disease state, then check with this crowd. Otherwise, ask your real friends and family, and show them one step at a time how successful your journey is! Best of luck with your continued success.
