Ive been bad.. help!
I have a theory about this, I eat chocolate almost everyday, in the beginning it was chocolate power crunch bars, now I eat them plus some real chocolate. But if its dessert its the 3 bite rule and no more, if its m &m;s its a handful, and no I don't mean like 50 I mean like 10, I only eat chocolate I like and do not deny it to myself. I am at goal and intend to stay this way. chocolate is no worse for you then any other carb and its worth it for me because I love it so much, I just love being in control of it and it not being in control of me.
Enjoy just remember who controls who.
Hugs Heidi
Heidi, this is kind of how I approach it. One good option I've found is the high cacao chocolates. All the companies are making them now - Hershey's, Lindt, Ghirardelli, and all the fancy brands, too. I have found 1" square Lindt 82% cacao squares - they are hardly sweet at all, and to one who is less crazy about chocolate than I am, they do not taste "good." But they are low in carbs, and so intensely chocolate, and also in the handy little squares. YUM. When I want something chocolate, this is one of my favorite picks!
hey girl how are you feeling?
That makes sense. So I guess the chocolate isnt what has stalled me the past 3 weeks since its only 1 or 2 per day. Maybe I am just at a plateau?

OMG I thought it was just me.... I also don't dump on sweets, and mine isn't kit kats but milky way minis. I am down 100 pounds (WLS June 14) but I have not lost any weight in 2 weeks, thank god halloween is over. I should have just bought the crapy candy or at least one that i dont like...lol

Consult 342/ Surgery Day 317/ Current 227/Goal 150
Hi Suga. Being only 3 days post-op, I can't really attest to my ability to eat much more of anything other than broth! I look forward to the day when I can have a little bit of chocolate again. My advice about the Kit Kats is to throw them out. Temptation is a terrible thing. I've made a point not to look at my children's Halloween booty, since there is a lot of it. Sweets were totally my weakness. I could eat a candy bar a couple of times a week and completely convince myself I wasn't causing any harm! Good luck to you on that!
Suga. I'm thinking your body is resting, girl you been dropping weight like a bad habit!! Just give yourself a break and allow yourself a treat once in a while. I had this surgery to regulate my binges so to speak. And I bet you can dump on enough sugar,,I found I could tolerate the Halloween candy and Thurs I did 3 of the fun packs of pnut m&m's....and 3 hours later I had the shakes, and I know it was from that. So no I did not dump,,but my body reacted and I won't do it again for a while!! But ultimately I will forget and do it again,,so I am glad i had rny surgery because of this very thing....
Oh my, it's like you "ghost" wrote that post for me! I've been going through the same thing with chocolate! Started out scared of it, tried a little, tried a little more, now have a small piece every day. I haven't dumped yet on anything, just over one year out. I'm still afraid of dumping, and dedicated to this new way of life and cherishing my tool - so I really feel that I have good control over this chocolate thing. You did receive some terrific responses to this post! I ate major amounts of chocolate in my pre-WLS life so being satisfied with 10 M&M's or a snack size candy feels GREAT!!! It's a combination of being satisfied and knowing I now have control!!! I will always enjoy chocolate, it's good stuff!!! I am just so thankful that I can have it if I want it, and maintain control. And don't worry about your stall, it probably isn't the chocolate at all, just your body taking a break! You are doing great and will continue to lose, just hang tough! Take care !!!
Much love
from Georgia!!

I read a poster in Poughkeepsie, NY last night that stated a great idea........a place that buys Halloween candy by the pound from the kids who went trick or treating. This candy is then sent to the servicemen. I think this would help us.......kids get spending money and we don't get tempted to eat the candy.
