Liquid diet and murder trial

I'm scheduled for jury duty this week and I found out that what I may be selected for tomorrow is a murder trial scheduled to last until just 5 days before my surgery date.  If I am chosen, I will be doing my liquid diet in part at the court house!  Any ideas?  I'm mostly focused at this point on making sure I get some ice or at least can leave my shakes in a fridge somewhere.  I'm also going to make sure I keep up on my vitamins to make sure my energy is okay.  Any other suggestions on how to handle the liquid diet, just in general?  Mine is supposed to be 3-4 protein shakes a day, non-carb veggies and sugar free beverages.   Thanks for any suggestions, and for those who pray, PRAYERS!  I somehow think that a murder trial is going to be stressful if I'm selected.

Somewhere on the form you were sent there should be a place where your Surgeon can right why you can't participate in jury duty at this time.  If so, use it! Good luck, Holly Berry

I would tell them up front that you have special dietary needs and that you have surgery pending.  You will probably be excused.  Good Luck on your surgery.  Loris

You should be able to be medically excused from jury duty.

You should be able to call or write to ask to be excused based on your situation at this time. I was able to be excused due to family coming to town to visit and I think this situation would be a non- issue to be excused. I believe you are able to ask to be excused up to 3 times before it's a MUST do!!!

I am right now on day two of my liquid diet and thought the same thing-- I might want to kill someone... hehehhe For the original poster: Just let them know and you will be excused.

I thought the same thing. Or confessions of a future murder after being on the liquid diet.

Subject got my attention too!  LOL...had to read it. I would imagine you can get excused from duty, even without a medical.  Just tell the judge and they'll probably let you go.

Lucky you! No! For real! I've never gotten called for jury duty! My DH has gotten called 4 times and hasn't had to do any of them! So not fair!

Gimme' a "juicy" trial any day! lol

Anyway, explain your dietary needs, shakes, ice and needing access to a fridge and blender. They'll either adapt for you or excuse you. I'd also stress the importance of your surgery date and if the trial is going to run that long, you can't be on the jury and can supply a letter from your surgeon.

Just some ideas.......
