Oprah show- how do they drink?

I really liked when Carney Wilson said that WLS did not make her an Alcoholic.  She was a BORN ALCOHOLIC.  I am not saying that WLS did not contribute to her choice in drinking, but it did not make her drink.  She has an addictive personality and her addiction could have been anything.  I really liked what she had to say. I may not have heard it accurately, but I thought Oprah said, "...people think WLS is a quick fix..." Correct me if I'm wrong. If that is indeed what she said, she needs to choose her words with more care. I'm a literal person! LOL She shouldn't generalize bc I'm sure there are many who know/knew WLS is not a quick fix.

On the topic of addictions, I've done a lot of reading on the subject. I've read repeatedly that addictions come in "threes." For example, my dad was addicted to food, gambling, and sex. I've also read that addiction has a moderately strong genetic component. What do you think?

I didn't even watch it - its seemed like sensationalism - a headline to catch your eye etc.  I can drink at almost 5 months out. I've had a few galsses of red wine with no issues. In fact, I can eat and drink almost anything! Which terrifies me!
