I found bags of pre-shelled frozen edamame at Whole Foods.  Brought them home, nuked them and they are great.  High in protein, taste good, very filling!  I like the al dente texture too.

Craziest thing is I had never ever had them before and about 4 yrs ago when I was pregnant with my son I went to Trader Joes and saw them preshelled in the produce section. And it was like a force came over me and I HAD TO HAVE THEM  I ate a bag a day when I was pregnant that was the only thing I craved.  I will have to get some more I had almost forgot about them!!

I keep the frozen ones on hand all the time. I thaw them and put them on top of salads, but I also put them in stir-fry and even mexican dishes. Mmm...

ha funny you wrote this... i've been trying to figure these things out =)   someone told me to put  them in a little olive oil (so I bought the Pam spray kind) added some seasoning and tossed them in the pan a long time.  I was like.. this can't be right =)  I asked her today... she said yes, but add soy sauce.  They were pretty good even when I cooked them... Odd little things.. aren't they fake peas? =)

M =)
